Installation Techniques and Clearance Requirements for Screw Conveyor

Screw conveyor installation is the determining factor for future good use. It is necessary to install the trash conveyor systems correctly in the designated location and meet technical requirements:


  • The installation base of the screw conveyor should be completed at least 20 days before the formal installation of screws. The foundation should be able to reliably support the wholesale screw conveyor and ensure that the sinking and additional changes of the screw conveyor are not caused by a foundation that is too small, and to ensure that the screw conveyor has sufficient stability during operation.

  • Clean the parts of the screw conveyor that were stuck with dirt during transportation or unloading before installation.

  • The flange faces of adjacent casings of the screw conveyor should be flat and tight, and the misalignment of the joint on the inner surface of the casing should not exceed 2mm.

  • Asbestos tape is allowed to be used between the flanges of the screw conveyor in the casing to adjust the accumulated errors in the length of the casing and the screw.

  • The clearance between the outer diameter of the screw conveyor and the casing should meet the requirements of the table below. The clearance should not be less than 50% of the nominal clearance. If a larger clearance is required, it should be based on user requirements.

  • The intermediate suspension of the screw conveyor should be reliably fixed on the lug of the casing. After the spiral is connected, it should rotate evenly without jamming. During installation, adjust the gasket between the suspension bearing seat and the casing lug to ensure that the lifting shaft is coaxial.

  • The coaxiality of the main shaft of the screw conveyor and the gear motor shaft should meet GB1184-80.

  • After the waste conveyor belt is correctly installed in the housing, the screw on the machine base should be tightened and then tightened again.

  • All coupling screws of the screw conveyor should be tightened to a reliable degree.

  • The on-site installation of screw conveyor inlet and outlet should make the flange bearing surface of the inlet and outlet parallel to the axis of the screw machine, and the flanges to be connected should fit tightly without any gaps.

  • After installing the screw conveyor, check whether there is enough lubricating oil in each oil storage location. If it is not enough, it will be added. After that, no load test shall be carried out. After the no-load test operation exceeds 4 hours, check the correctness of the screw machine components. If it does not meet the following conditions, stop immediately and operate after correction until it is in a good operating state.
